99% of Surveyed TLC Patients Would Refer Others to TLC

TLC LASIK Patients Have High Satisfaction and Improved Quality of Life

The vast majority of the surveyed TLC Laser Eye Centers patients who had LASIK or other laser vision correction procedures are very satisfied with the results, and most said that the overall quality of their lives and daily routines have improved, according to the results of a recent TLC patient study. TLC's study mirrors the recent Harris Interactive Survey commissioned by the Eye Surgery Education Council (ESEC). That survey was the first nationwide quality of life survey assessing life implications for laser vision correction patients. Both the TLC survey and the Harris survey clearly show that laser vision correction has a profound positive impact on overall quality of life, daily routine, and job performance. However, the TLC survey results outperformed those of Harris in almost all areas, indicating that TLC patients surveyed reported experiencing the highest quality of patient care and achieving excellent results.

Night Glare and Laser Vision Correction

The recent media coverage of night vision problems and laser vision correction has raised many questions. While there will always be risks associated with any surgical procedure, including possible night vision problems, today's laser vision correction is exceptionally safe and effective.

TLC Laser Eye Centers' commitment to patient safety and satisfaction is your assurance that we will do everything possible to achieve the best result for you. These important facts should help you better understand the potential risks and benefits of this revolutionary vision correction option:

  • Recent studies highlighted in local and national media represented a very small sample size and were results from five-year-old technology. To illustrate, the frequently referenced Jory study included only 38 patients with higher prescriptions who may have had diminished night vision before surgery.

  • Many studies report excellent results with laser vision correction, some patients even have improved night vision. A recent carefully controlled study showed that most patients actually have improved contrast sensitivity after surgery.

  • A recent FDA study done by TLC doctors on scanning laser technology showed 9% of patients had improved night driving vision after LASIK.

  • Hundreds of thousands of patients have undergone laser vision correction procedures in North America. Almost all have been overjoyed with the results and 99% of TLC's patients would have the procedure again if given a choice.

  • Over 4000 doctors have had laser vision correction with TLC Laser Eye Centers, and 2000 of them were eye doctors!

  • Finally, laser vision correction surgery is not for every patient. Our doctors will perform a comprehensive preoperative examination and carefully evaluate your suitability for surgery. If you are an appropriate candidate, they will determine the best procedure to minimize any risk and maximize your chances of success.

The extensive array of testing that will be performed prior to your surgery will help minimize any potential complications and ensure that your results are optimal. The experienced and caring professionals at TLC appreciate the trust that you place in us and will do everything within our power to facilitate your success.

Same Technology Approved by NASA is Available at TLC Laser Eye Centers

The National Aeronautics and Space Agency (NASA) has announced the approval of Bladeless Custom LASIK vision correction for their astronauts - the same bladeless custom technology that is also available nationwide at TLC Laser Eye Centers.

NASA's approval came following a review of extensive military clinical data using the same two lasers employed in our Bladeless Custom LASIK. The research showed that the use of the combination of technologies provided superior safety and vision - results TLC Centers agree are unparalleled.
