Stuart Terry - M.D., F.A.C.S., - Regional Medical Director

Dr. Stuart Terry is the Medical Director for TLC Laser Eye Centers in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Terry has pursued a career in research, teaching and clinical practice with a concentration in refractive surgery, cataract surgery and the treatment of glaucoma. He has been recognized by his peers as one of “The Best Doctors In America” and has received the “Honor Award” from the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Terry has dedicated his career to helping the public achieve freedom from visual problems.



Education
Since graduating as valedictorian from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 1968, Dr. Terry has continued to distinguish himself both academically and professionally. He completed his residency in ophthalmology at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri in 1972. While in the U.S. Air Force, Dr. Terry was an instructor for the Ophthalmology Residency Program at Wilford Hall Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Terry has published numerous scientific papers, lectured to professional colleagues throughout the country, and conducted scientific research on the treatment of various eye conditions.

Memberships/Affiliations
Dr. Terry has been distinguished as a VISX Star Surgeon, an honor given to the top five percent of refractive surgeons nationwide. Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and in LASIK by the American College of Eye Surgeons (recertified, 2004), Dr. Terry is a full Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. He is the former Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology, Baptist Memorial Hospital System. Dr. Terry is past president of the San Antonio Society of Ophthalmology, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Frank Scribbick

Currently, Dr. Scribbick is a partner with Ophthalmology Associates in San Antonio, and he also holds a faculty position at the University of Texas at San Antonio Health Science Center, where he serves as the medical director of the Lions Eye Pathology Laboratory. Dr. Scribbick routinely travels and lectures on the topic of ophthalmic pathology to ophthalmology residents throughout the nation. He is the course director for the annual San Antonio Ophthalmology Course, a course which attracts over 300 ophthalmologists from the United States and Canada to prepare for their board certification exams.

Education/Training
Dr. Frank Scribbick graduated cum laude from the University of California at Davis and attended medical school at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. After an internship at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, Dr. Scribbick was trained as an ophthalmologist at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) in San Antonio. He completed fellowship training in Ophthalmic Pathology at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia in 1996.

Following the completion of his fellowship, Dr. Scribbick became a faculty member of the Brooke Army Medical Center Ophthalmolgy Department. In addition to ophthalmic pathology, Dr. Scribbick is an outstanding corneal refractive surgeon (LASIK), who established and directed the refractive surgery service at Brooke Army Medical Center in 1997. In addition, Dr. Scribbick became a staff surgeon at TLC Laser Eye Centers in San Antonio in 1998, and he is experienced with all types of corneal refractive surgery, including Intraocular Contact Lenses. Dr. Scribbick has also served as the residency program director at BAMC and as Chief of Ophthalmology at BAMC.

Mark A. Slosar, O.D., F.A.A.O.

Dr. Mark Slosar, Clinical Director of TLC San Antonio, specializes in evaluating and consulting with patients interested in the surgical correction of their vision. He has more than 15 years of extensive pre and post operative clinical experience working with refractive vision specialists and surgeons. At the San Antonio TLC Center, Dr. Slosar is responsible for overseeing all aspects of patient care, including the proper selection of laser vision correction candidates, planning surgical treatments in conjunction with the surgeon, and managing the administrative functions of the Center. Before joining TLC Laser Eye Centers, Dr. Slosar was in private practice for more than 30 years and was known for providing state-of-the-art clinical expertise in a very personalized, friendly, easy-to-understand approach.



Education/Training
Dr. Slosar earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from University of California, Los Angeles. Following his undergraduate work, he served in the U.S. Army, assigned to a General Hospital Unit and trained as a medical corpsman at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. He then attended the Southern California College of Optometry where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree and his Doctor of Optometry Degree, graduating Cum Laude. During his training, he assumed clinical rotation patient care responsibilities at the Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego, California. Dr. Slosar is a licensed, TPA certified therapeutic optometrist.

Membership/Affiliations
Dr. Slosar is a Fellow in the American Academy of Optometry and member of the American Optometric Association, California Optometric Association, Orange County Optometric Society and Bexar County Optometric Society.

Honors/Accomplishments
Slosar has received numerous scholarships and awards, including the prestigious Fairfield Optical Award in 1979. He has been involved in investigational studies for Bausch & Lomb, Allergan, Sola/Syntex, and Johnson & Johnson; and has been invited to speak at numerous professional meetings. Dr. Slosar has served as a Clinical Examiner for The National Board of Examiners in Optometry and has served as a Clinical Faculty/Instructor in the Contact Lens Section at the Southern California College of Optometry.
